Various friends of mine reacted to this sad event and emailed me. I was shocked to hear that it was on the TV headlines all over the world - amongst others in South Africa, Canada, Thailand, and on the BBC and CNN. They said the world was shocked too ... but probably for a different reason. This is China, the upcoming giant, probably the world's next super power ... but with fundamental cracks deep within her inner self.

It appears the world is holding its breath ... How is China going to rise up from this? Quickly make a few scapegoats and punish them so that the world can see there's "justice" in China? Denial again, as usual? Would the world ever trust China? My guess ... not if China is still not prepared to do some deep self-examination and implement the much needed cures.

I'm very disappointed about it.I rally don't known to say.I just want to tell that people that the god knows everthing you did.

It's unbelievable that there is no people to rescue this little girl until the old woman help her.Today the hospital official announced that this only two years old girl was diagnosed to be died.I have felt sad about hearing that.According to this accident,we should learned that parents ought to responsible to take care of their own children.Then the drivers could not escape to bear the liability for the injured girl.What's more,it's cruel that the little girl could not gain the help from the eighteen passerby in time.That's a great tragedy.Anyway,let's mourn her.

This news is really sad. We also talked about this in our class yesterday.
Why so many people just stood by and seeing the girl was going die? They were adults ,while this little girl was weak, helpless and at the edge of death, what confused me was how could they had their hearts to face this tragedy. This situation should be accused. Are people tend to being cold-blooded in this society or what leads to this ?
This morning, i learned that this girl was leaving this world. I cried for many reasons, Our human nature should not have expressed like this. we should wake up the purity in our human's deep-inside.

When I hear the news,I am sympathy for the little child.At the same time,I am angry for the behavior of the driver fled and passer-by ignorance.I want to ask these witnesses,if is your daughter lie there,can you ignore it?As a people,we should have the basic moral.last,let us pray foy the little girl.

I'm with a trembling heart when I saw the video a car running over the little baby's body,The little girl's blood flows quickly on the ground, I thought the driver will get off to save the baby,but to my beverydisappointed,he get away.Especially I want to understand why many passerbys saw this seriously injured girl but like saw nothing has happened,then letting the baby hurt again.Does the people's heart be eaten by dog? Does There is something more precious than life? I just want ask the unfeeling people if someday you child suffer the same situation,won't you upset? last,I really hope that thoes unfeeling people could weak up and the unfortunate baby will get well soon.

After watching this,I feel very sad and I almost want to cry. I don't understand why the people didn't help the lovely child.Just put up your hand, and you can save a child's life.I don't know what can express my moon at present.

I want to cry,I want to say sorry for this litter but strong life,I also want to appreciate to the old woman.I can just to say our people indifferent to life,srangers have no sympthy,I am really angry with it,I hope our people can think high value of life,on mater who you are,no mater where you are.

I've refrained to comment further, until now. It appears most of us are still in shock about this unbelievably inhumane thing we have witnessed here. I'd like to say something on some comments I've read above.

Darren mentioned a similar event with an old lady he's witnessed himself. He said too: "I feel the story above has highlighted serious issues here with regards to humanity, or the lack of it. How sad for China to see her people acting in such a callous manner ..."

Star: "This is what makes me think that there is something more here than just human nature. That all of these actors could have made such poor choices forces one to wonder about the society here. Is there something fundamentally wrong with the way that people think about each other here?"

Of course this is not an isolated incident. Many more similar incidents had been recorded over the last few years. I don't have to remind the reader about the 22-year old Chinese male student running a 34-year old lady on a bike over in his new Chev Cruze about 4 months ago, then getting out of his car and stabbing her to death so that she can't identify him (and not stabbing her once, but 17 times). That falls in the same category as what'd happened to this little girl.

Yes, this is much, much deeper than the average person thinks. Something is fundamentally wrong with the Chinese thinking and their actions. Somewhere China has lost her soul. I'm not allowed to say here what I really know and believe, but I guess I can say this, that this was not the first time, and surely it was also not the last time that we'll witness incidents like these in China. This is the price the Chinese people pay for mistakes of the past and the fact that the powers that be continue to rule in denial thereof. A country that's done to her people what this country has experienced, should realize that it's left some soulless generations that'll act against their fellow citizens as if their lives are worth nothing, just as they'd experienced in the history of this country. I wish I could express myself without restraint.

I feel sad for the Chinese people that are innocent of this, but had to witness these callous and heartless acts from their fellowmen in embarrassment (as the world knows too now). I'd like to believe that the new generations of Chinese people (amongst others, those we are teaching) are not like that. But then, what about that 22-year old student ... How could it be possible that the system he was exposed to, turned him also into a heartless monster when under such immense pressure ...?

No, this is not western thought. Look what three Chinese students remarked:
Boston: "Most of the Chinese know this kind of indifferent thing happens frequently in China."
Cheng Yang: "Recently I have heard lots of things like this.I can not help asking myself: what is wrong with chinese people?"
Terry: "This is a moral problem".

And no, I'm not criminalizing China. If it wasn't for my feelings toward China, I wouldn't have cared much (about the reason behind this phenomenon). Just as much as all the other readers, I'd like to see this never happening again, but that's total naivety, as one has to address the root of the problem. And I know (and some of you do too) that no ordinary citizen of this country will change this. It has to come from the powers that be; past leaders were responsible; the solution lie in the hands of the current and future leaders.

with costantly development of the economy, it is obvious that some problems appear in our daily life,a terrible accident happen in the city of foshan,in guangzhu province several days ago when a little girl was attacked by a vehicle and lying on the road,but passers-by across the road ingored her and passed by,why the thing happened in china ?
to be honest, this is a moral problem, it isn't sloved in short time, chinese traditional virtue is not highly paid attention to the native people so that it result from the shortness of cultivating the good quality, witn the new value and thoughts was constantly delivered into the china, more and most native people are westernized and don't put forth chinese virtue.
