My new bicycle
So I got a new bicycle today. Okay, so maybe it wasn't exactly 'new'. I mean, how new can a bike that only cost 150 RMB actually be, right? But it's new for me - especially since I haven't actually ridden a bicycle in four years. Yep - it's been all scooters or campus shuttles for me.
Fortunately, riding a bicycle is well - how else can I put this - like riding a bicycle. It comes back to you real fast.
It wasn't long today before I was driving like a pro - dodging scooters coming at me in my lane, swerving to avoid some idiot listening to his MP3 player while riding his bike, and pumping my legs quickly to avoid being crushed by a car that was barreling through a campus intersection.
Yep. I survived a day here on my new black bicycle. Somehow. But my knees hurt a little bit.
Actually, after dark is my favorite time to bike around campus. For one thing - and most importantly - no one can see me at night. I don't hear anyone yelling my name or excitedly telling their friends that there's a foreigner on a bicycle. I feel invisible at night. I like that feeling.
And the campus feels different as well,especially around 10:30 when most students are back in their dorms or at least headed that way. It's fun to coast down deserted campus roads and feel the fresh breeze coming off the ocean. Ahh yes. This is the life.
I'm excited about my new bicycle. I think it will serve me well. Unless it's raining of course or it gets stolen (that could definitely happen here). A bicycle may be a simple machine but it gets me where I want to go. And that's all I can ask for.

Congratulations,now you have been a mumber of us,the so-called bicycle friends.I also bought a car(Haha,actually a bicycle) just when I enter the university which cost me 300 RMB.The bicycle companied with me for four years,in the morning,I rode to have classes and after dark back to dormitory,when weekend,I went around the compus or "drove" to seaside on my bike.However,unfortunately,
it had been stolen last month and coundn't be found anymore.I feel so sad as if
losing a friend.Can you understand my feeling?

Though I dare not ride alone in the campus at night,I admire the feeling of biking around to enjoy the night view with few people there .

To tell you the truth, I now that bike is a new one. Although it's a little expensive, it's performance is really good. So, in a way, it not only save my school time, but also very good to protect my personal safety.

I think 150RMB is acceptable. My bicycle is hard to ride but it took me 230RMB to buy it.I feel sad.Up-oh

I'm glad to hear that you own yourself bicycle.And I know that you also have a electric motorcycle.Nevertheless,electric motorcycle is not more environmental than bicycle riding.Maybe it's not convenient riding in rainy days but riding bicycle is beneficial for strengthening our physical health.

Simple life,walking or riding in the quiet campus path freely especially after i have a satisfactory dinner,i think,is one of the most enjoyable things in my life. Indeed,this feeling is quite nice!haha~~Are you also enjoy this lifestyle,star?

I like riding a bike when I want to visit somewhere.I think riding a bike is very Environment friendly because cars can harm the environment. I also think it would keep our health by bike.When I was in junior middle school, I ridden the bike go to school everyday. At last, I want to say:"You are very lucky because 150yuan is really very cheap"!

150 RMB? It is really a bargain, I guess someone stole the bike and then sold it to the bike shop owner, and the shop owner sold it to you. I saw you with Sean this afternoon riding your bike, it looks nice. I like riding a bike, but not in the cold winter day here.

Were you doing Tai Ji over there by the stadium today? I saw Fay in the front and a couple other students waving at us. I'm sure your teachers weren't too happy about the distraction. :)
Sean liked my bike but he said that I need to raise the seat and change the tires.

I changed a tire last semester and it cost me about 20 RMB. I was in the aerobic dancing class and we were stretching on the stage. I saw Faye and Kay doing Tai Ji and I think it is cool, maybe next time I'll choose the Tai Ji course.

My Mountain bike got stolen in my sophomore year. It really hurted me. I loved it so much that I cursed the stealer all day long. But I'm over it now.

Of course I locked it up. But once they set their mind on your bike, more often than not, they were gonna get it regardless of what you put on it.

Someone told me they saw the school throwing bicycles into the back of a truck during the holiday. Not sure where they were going with those.

To some recycling factories perhaps. Those rusty bikes are left behind by the graduate. We have a lot of those downstairs. But they are not all bad. A small number of them are in good condition.

I do still care about my privacy. I like to be able to walk down the street without hearing a bunch of people yelling my name.
I've adjusted as best I can but sometimes it really does feel good to be invisible and anonymous.

I decided that it would be safer to ride a bike. It's also a good way for me to get some exercise. I can still use the scooter if I am in a BIG hurry or if someone steals my bike! ;)

yeah,riding a bike is more safer .that's true. well,if u are in BIG hurry,be more careful and not more fast when u use yr scooter.
