WHY?

In the spirit of Christmas, I'm trying to give the two people who parked their scooters here the benefit of the doubt. But come on! The rest of us parked our scooters at the end of the line, like normal people! Do these scooters belong to two VIPS? Do these people think that they're better than everyone else? And what about the people who have scooters TRAPPED behind the scooter in the background?
My students always claim that it is mostly uneducated people in China who have bad manners. I don't believe it.
What do you think?

Hello, I am a newcomer!
I think this is a bad thing that they put their motor bike everywhere they like!Although it is convinent for them, but it is not conbinent for others! This also mean they selflish! In our society,we should think others more, it will make the world warmthly!

Those people merely do not want to obey the rules. This phenomenon just implys the selfish idea of small part of our schoolmates

No doubt ! they are selflish .they didn't care about other's people feeling .they just do what they want . maybe they are proud of their behaviors .

Actually,so many unaducated people in our country. But also many aducated people but without moral. They just think about themselves, and ignore others or our society.

Hey, Nathan. I have seen you and your families(your son and your wife)in the ticket office of airport express in the morning on the Chirstmas Eve. You son is lovely. I think maybe you went to Macao at that day. Right?

Actually,I am sorry to see this situation. In fact, when I saw these boring things at a time,I always thought why these people did not consider ohters feeling. How selfish they are!

It's really common in our campus.I hate this too.But what can we do?I think the school should do something.

Maybe there were so many scooters so they could not park their scooters like others. But the most important thing is that they were too lasy to park their scooters at other place.
I don't think it is a matter of education. All the people here are receiving education. I think they know what they should do and what they can't do. However, they sometimes ignore others and just think about themselves. Therefore, the most important thing should be improve,I think, is people's quality.

Not the case, Yuki. I was also there that day (with my wife and child) but I still parked my scooter way down the line like most everyone else. There was plenty of place to park for those who weren't lazy.

Maybe they just put them there, and didn't consider other people would be inconvenient because of their manners. Now more and more students own their scooters, and sometimes they will put the scooter in the place where we put our bicycles. It always makes me unhappy.

I agree with Sula.Once a person I know park his scooter near the brim of the road as he was in a hurry to buy the ticket to go to Gongbei. He had to be so quickly that he had to take the lastest bus to go back home. However,no matter what the reason is,I think anyone can't be so bad manner to do so!!

that is why we have the higher education, but we still do something like that.in my opinion,i think one of the important things for China is that the quality of Chinese people still not as high as the education they received.i have known many things reflect the Chinese present sitution, but what can i do?i am so regretful to the sorrow things that happened in China.

This situation comes to me several times, in the dinning hall, dormitory parking and even the library. I just roughly and violently move them away ,sometimes I would throw them into the grass! That's the right thing to do, the school guards silently agree with my ways to handle this situation!
Mon, 12/26/2011 - 20:12
From where I stand, if the scooter is parked out of the exact place asking for fee,i think this phenomenon may be improved.
Many people think this phenomenon is common .Other person can do that,so why can I not?In addition, consciousness is more important than others. If a man have a good manner,he or she won't do like that even though there is not any rules to limite.

Hi Candice. Maybe the school should start handing out fines for these types of infractions. The school could make some money AND make the campus a safer place. Two for the price of one!

Don't be anger, star.maybe they didn't parked there on purpose.they just had something to do in a hurry, so they parked there for a while.they also put something in the scooter.so i believe they would come back soon.maybe next time, they will think about other people, and wouldn't do this any more.
Mon, 12/26/2011 - 20:16
I'm not angry about it...it didn't cause me any big trouble. But this is the ame kind of thing that I see again and again in China...people looking out for themselves and no one else. It's sad really...
Tue, 12/27/2011 - 23:02
I think this problem will be eliminated in several years, maybe five or ten years.i think only everyone pays attention to it and do something follow the rules consciusly, the phenomenon will be changed.but it is hard to achieve in a short time
Tue, 12/27/2011 - 17:33
...I also understand it in the cultural context of the last 60 to 100 years in China, not just the last 5 or 10. When starvation is a REAL concern, when dying in a war is a REAL concern, when surviving is a REAL concern, I understand putting yourself and your family above all else! Altruism is a luxury, not an absolute.
I think the Chinese are learning to think of others and to care for others but they have been in survival mode for most of the last century so it will take time - but we will see it get better if we continue to live here.

It seemed that you were very angry with the guys who parked their scooters there. But, I just want to make a guess. Is it possible that the owners just left for a while, maybe just for a minute to buy tickets. So they didn't think they would get others in troubles.
Mon, 12/26/2011 - 14:22
I wish that were true..but did you look closely at the scooters? One is LOCKED and the other one is up on its BOTTOM jack. These are not people who are just going to buy tickets.
Tue, 12/27/2011 - 17:35
...one of them left their groceries! Makes me think he/she was coming back quickly!
Mon, 12/26/2011 - 22:58
Oh, what I want to say is that they are stupid guys. No morals, No qualities.
Mon, 12/26/2011 - 00:58
I think the phenomenon is common in our campus, maybe not only ours but also the most colleges in China. For example, there is a sign showing NO PARKING in the gate which is near the third teaching building of the library. But some students still parked their bikes there.
On my point of view, it's not just because of the education, but also their unconscious habits. They have formed such bad habits. They always do things in ways they like or they want to. I also have noticed that these people have one thing in common. That is :Ruels for them don't count for much.
On my opinion, we should raise our awareness of the rules and the importance of our quality.
Good night!

Hey, my dear~It is "in my opinion",not "on my opinion".
Sun, 12/25/2011 - 22:25
It's a piece of cake.I guess u havent seen those students who parked their scooters on the first floor of our dorm(Rong 8),especially at night. Those students parked their scooters so crowd in order to charge their scooters.I cant even walk through after parking my bike.Ahhahaah, what a view! :(
Sun, 12/25/2011 - 21:01
It's not about the education. These scooters maybe belong to some students here, they are quite well-educated I think. They just don't think about other people. They should have put themselves into others' shoes. That guy just parked his or her scooter there blocking others' way. How are the rest of the scooters at that line supposed to go out?
Sun, 12/25/2011 - 21:21
Hey Lusy. Is it possible that they are handicapped or something? But even if they did have some health problem(like a broken leg or something), I still don't think it was a very nice thing to do.
And where are the guards? Shouldn't they do something about this?
Mon, 12/26/2011 - 17:34
...they are the same ones who think that they do not need to come to class or do homework and that they should still get a high mark! I have a hard time with the sense of "entitlement" that I see from some of my students - and it is almost always a young man!
