Frequently Asked Questions

The National English Club of China is a collision of cultures and an exchange of ideas. It is a place where friendships are born across China and around the world. It is a place where English becomes fascinating and fun.

Please meet the three people who run this site:

Star's picture My name is Star I and teach in the south of China. I hail from the United States. I love building websites and reading history in my spare time. This website was born out of a desire for me to provide my university students with an online forum where we could communicate in between classes.
Houston's picture Houston is one of my former students and he's my 'go-to' guy on this site. He has been involved with the NEC almost from day one. Not only has he translated this website into Chinese, but he has also helped me debug numerous problems and given me helpful suggestions about running the site. His perspective as a Chinese guy has been invaluable as we move this site forward.
Zakumi's picture Zakumi joined the NEC last year and he has been instrumental in bringing more members to our site as well as giving me direction on how to run the site. Zakumi hails from South Africa and he teaches in the north of China. He is also a moderator and his assistance and moral support are greatly appreciated.
